To honor the remarkable contributions of women worldwide on International Women’s Day, we had the pleasure of hosting Basma Alawee, a humanitarian, engineer, teacher, writer, and activist who arrived in the United States as a refugee in 2010, as well as Roya Hakakian, an Iranian-American journalist and author who immigrated to the United States in 1985.Â
